OUR ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING WAS HELD THIS EVENING – with a Raffle to raise funds for THE LONGEST TABLE

We had a good attendance at the AGM, with reports presented and Office Bearers and Committee Members elected. Members were treated to a complimentary hamburger, cooked by Marty and Michael, followed by a scrummy dessert of Waffles, Caramelised Banana and Ice Cream, thanks to Sophie.

During the evening Wendy sold raffle tickets to raise funds for Cancer Research as part of The Longest Table initiative. Wendy supplied three hampers for prizes – Wine, Food and Mystery. The Wine hamper was won by James, Gavin won the Food hamper and Yvonne the Mystery hamper. We are all waiting to see Yvonne on Saturday to find out what was in her hamper.

Wendy’s daughter, Karen, is hoping to raise $5000 and you can help her do this at https://www.thelongesttable.com.au/table/a-little-bit-fancy-degustation/

A GREAT PLACE TO CELEBRATE

Wyatt, a very happy two year old, and his family and friends, had a wonderful time when they used Prospect Petanque Clubrooms to celebrate his 2nd birthday recently. It had a Construction theme as Wyatt loves trucks and his guests were able to “demolish” a building (made of cardboard boxes decorated as a brick wall) with the basketball that was hanging from the pergola roof. Lots of time was also spent bulldozing the sand with the many dump trucks and dozers. If the children tired of the construction activities, they went next door to the playground.

The guests wore colourful hi vis vests and hard hats and the decorations all followed the construction theme.

Prospect Petanque members assisted with the bar service and heating of the afternoon tea.

Great to see our Clubrooms so much enjoyed.

25th BIRTHDAY HIGH TEA AT PROSPECT PETANQUE CLUB

Prospect Petanque Club celebrated their 25th Birthday today with a High Tea held in wonderful weather out in our wonderful surroundings. About 40 members, past and present, attended to see the Mayor of Prospect, David O’Loughlin, cut the cake and President, Allan Sanderson give a summary of the beginnings of the Club and the progress made over the years. A highlight of the Afternoon Tea were the petite biscuits that Wendy Dewey created with the Club logo imprinted on them.

Six lucky attendees won a commemorative bottle of red wine.

The celebrations will continue tomorrow, Sunday 18 April, with a Doubles competition with approximately 30 teams registered to compete.

FACCI visit to Prospect Petanque Club 8 April 2021

Prospect Petanque welcomed members of the SA Chapter of French-Australian Chamber of Commerce (FACCI) yesterday, 8 April, 2021 when they joined us for a late afternoon of games, refreshment and socialising.

There was good competition between the players and good form was shown by our visitors and members.

Thank you to the members of FACCI who attended and to the many Club members who assisted with the preparation and running of this visit. We look forward to welcoming FACCI again.

The bar will be available for liquid refreshments.

Men At Work

Special thanks to Trevor Palmer, Marty Verdonk, Michael Frodyma and Brett Williams for taking on the task to ‘tidy up’ the Sound System cabling on the Northern Wall of the Club Rooms.

This effort certainly enhances the presentation of our Clubrooms for Petanque Special Occasions and Hire Functions.

Well done team.
