Richard Voskamp, part of the winning team of the 6th and final round of the 2009-2010 Interclub season
[see here], found himself without his mates Alan and Marty because of sickness.
Richard teamed-up with fellow Prospectarians,
Jean Philippe Guglielmi and an "out-of-sorts"
Dave Ward, to compete in Round 1 of the 2010-2011 Interclub season early on a cold and wet morning on Sunday 15 August at Gawler. The recently introduced Interclub eligibility experiment has provided Jean Philippe the opportunity to be part of this well-attended, vibrant, major series of competitions.
The strong State Veteran team of
Mike Mulvihill, Brett Williams and Allan Sanderson, from Prospect would have finished second on the day, had it not, unfortunately, been drawn against Richard's team in the final game of the day. They had their chance in the penultimate end but failed and lost a close, late-finishing and tightly fought game with a score-line 11-13.
Interclub first-timer and new Prospect Club-member
Trevor Palmer thought "it a shame [he] hadn't been part of this wonderful sport earlier in [his] life". He was ably guided through this "new form of play" under the caring guidance of long-time player
Nora Guglielmi and supported by recently joined young member
Darayus Nanavati. A fine introduction to Interclub Competition -
they finished fourth!
